What made State Duma deputy Delimkhanov famous for promising to cut off the heads of Kadyrov’s enemies

On the evening of February 1, the speech of the State Duma deputy from Chechnya Adam Delimkhanov, who made a statement in the Chechen language on his Instagram page, was widely distributed.

The telegram channel 1ADAT (included in the register of banned sites) translated the words of the people’s choice into Russian and it turned out that Delimkhanov vows to cut off the heads of members of the family of judge Saidi Yangulbaev, and at the same time those “who will translate this video into Russian .” “If you think you can lift your heads, then by Allah, we will cut off your heads!” – the telegram channel quotes the words of the deputy.

In connection with such a resonant and emotional speech, we decided to recall the biography of Deputy Delimkhanov.

Adam Delimkhanov was born on September 25, 1969 in the village of Benoi, Nozhai-Yurt District. The media has repeatedly called him a relative of the current head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov. From 1987 to 1989, Delimkhanov served in the army, and then worked as a mechanic.

In the second half of the 1990s, according to media reports, Delimkhanov was the personal driver of the field commander Salman Raduev, but in the second Chechen war, he, as they say, went over to the side of the federal forces and headed the bodyguard of the head of Chechnya, Akhmat Kadyrov. After the war, he worked for some time in law enforcement agencies, and from July 2006 to April 2007 he was the deputy of Ramzan Kadyrov, the chairman of the government of Chechnya.

In 2007, Delimkhanov became a State Duma deputy from United Russia and has not left the lower house of parliament since. Curiously, such an active member of parliament on Instagram from the rostrum of the State Duma from 2007 to 2021 did not say a word.

But in 2013, Delimkhanov was noted for a fight with another United Russia member, Alexei Zhuravlev. It was reported that Delimkhanov’s dissatisfaction was caused by a deputy’s request in which Zhuravlev asked to check the legality of the opening of a monument to Chechen women from the village of Dadi-Yurt, who died during the resistance of the Russian army during the Caucasian War of the 19th century, and expressed fears that this “provides ground for the cultivation of extremism and separatist sentiments.

On the evening of December 3, 2013, a dispute broke out between two parliamentarians in the State Duma building on this issue. According to Zhuravlev, Delimkhanov began to threaten him, then hit him on the head. “My assistants ran up, his guards. After that, a golden pistol fell out of Adam Sultanovich – I don’t know where – and we decided to stop all actions, ”said Zhuravlev.

The name of Adam Delimkhanov was mentioned in the press in 2008 and 2009 in connection with the murders of the Yamadayev brothers. On September 24, 2008, former State Duma deputy Ruslan Yamadayev was shot dead in Moscow. On March 28, 2009, an attempt was made on the life of Sulima Yamadayev, the former commander of the Chechen battalion Vostok, in Dubai. The younger brother of the victims, Isa Yamadayev, accused Adam Delimkhanov of organizing the assassination attempts, who, in turn, called these accusations a “provocation.”
